Liberty Heise — Middle School Math, Science and Humanities, Sixth Grade Advisor

Ms. Heise joined the faculty in 2009. Ms. Heise received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Forest Ecology and Writing from Evergreen State College and her Master of Arts in English (creative writing) from Temple University. She has been the executive assistant and projects coordinator for Raise Your Hand Texas—a grass roots organization dedicated to improving public schools across Texas, and she has been a workshop instructor at Paredes Middle School – a program offered by Badgerdog Literary Publishing. Ms. Heise is a published poet and has been awarded a number of fellowships—some overseas. Ms. Heise has lived in Sweden (where she attended high school) and is fluent in Swedish. An enthusiastic volunteer, she has participated in Big Brothers, Big Sisters, volunteered at the local library, and tutored math.
