Lucas Schaefer — Middle School Humanities, Seventh Grade Advisor

Mr. Schaefer joined the GSA faculty in 2009. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and traveled to Kenya with the school for international training. He tutors at the Austin Learning Center—English, history and study skills,. Traveled to Rio de Janeiro to assist student in producing a documentary about computer literacy and he has taught essay and fiction writing for the Duke Talent Identification program (TIP) in New Mexico. Mr. Schaefer was the Executive Director for the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film festival and also the executive director for Fine by Me—an organization dedicated to combating homophobia.
