Lucas Schaefer — Middle School Humanities

Mr. Schaefer joined the faculty in 2009. He received his BA from Duke University and traveled to Kenya with the School for International Training. He tutors English, history, and study skills at the Austin Learning Center. Mr. Schaefer traveled to Rio de Janeiro to assist students in producing a documentary about computer literacy, and he has taught essay and fiction writing for the Duke Talent Identification program (TIP) in New Mexico. Mr. Schaefer was the executive director for the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film festival and also the executive director for Fine by Me, an organization dedicated to combating homophobia.
