Robotics Competition Around the Corner

The robotics countdown is on! In one week, the 6-8th graders will face stiff competition at the First Lego League (FLL) Austin-area qualifier tournament. The 3-5th graders will do the same in three weeks. To progress to the next level, our teams must convince the judges that they:
- have become knowledgeable about climate-related problems in Austin,
- created an innovative solution to one of these problems,
- researched other parts of the world which have similar challenges,
- shared their solution with these communities,
- can program their robots with ease and proficiency, and
- demonstrate gracious professionalism in all they say and do.

Wow! That's a lot to accomplish in 10 weeks! The FLL season is intense, sometimes grueling, and usually tons of fun. Perhaps most importantly, teams gain invaluable engineering and business experiences through their "real world" exercises of R&D, teamwork, commitment, and hard work. We wish the best of luck to our fearless girls: Spare Pieces, our 6th-8th grade team, and the Volcanic 7, our 3rd-5th grade team!
