8th Grade Visits Famous Sculptor
By the 8th grade

We were privileged to be invited to visit the Austin studio of nationally known wood sculptor, David Everett, early this month.
Sharon Zeugin, Maeve's mom, arranged the tour and Mrs. Hoover also accompanied us.
These are our impressions of this talented sculptor and his studio:
Maeve: "Wood is a unique medium for sculpture and Mr. Everett's work is a perfect example of excellence in that medium."
Nic: "I had seen his beautiful pieces around Austin and it was impressive to see his working studio."
Liz: "It was intriguing to understand his creative process from pencil drawings to carving wood."
Gabi: "I liked how he incorporated his animal sculpture with whimsy."
Ana: "It was amazing that his delicate sculpture came from a block of wood."
Sam: "I thought it was interesting how realistic his work was, especially the animal carvings."
Mrs. Hoover: "What beautiful work! What a neat and fascinating studio!---I aspire to clean mine up! No wonder his creativity flows in such a well appointed space."
