Eco Art Exhibit
By the GSA 6th Grade
At The Girls' School, we do many unique art projects. The work done for the Art From Recycle Exhibit, now showing at the Scanlon Gallery at St. Stephens, was no exception! It was exciting to realize that you could express yourself with recycled items made into art, even though the art room looked really messy for two weeks. It was good for the environment and good for Mrs. Hoover's budget! We didn't use anything that could not be recycled or wasn't biodegradable. Some of our favorite pieces of the 22 submitted were the "Dragon," the "Corkypine," the"Flock of Sheep," and the "Fish of the Future."
The entire middle school participated and there are additional works from area high schools and colleges. The gallery is open until October 11, from 9-5, with a special student opening, Saturday, Oct. 4th, from 1-3pm.
