GSA Middle School String Students Do It Again!

On Saturday, October 10, eight GSA string students in 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade went to West Ridge Middle School to try out for All-Region Orchestra. They competed with several hundred students from 23 middle schools, public and private, in the Austin and Eanes school districts. Six of our students were selected to play in one of the two All-Region Orchestras - Symphony (full orchestra) and Philharmonic (strings only):
- Stevie, 8th grade: Violin 2, 3rd chair, Symphony
- Tillie, 8th grade, Cello: 9th chair, Symphony
- Iliana, 7th grade: Violin 1, 1st chair, Philharmonic
- Gabriella, 8th grade: Violin 1, 6th chair, Philharmonic
- Abigail 6th grade, Cello: 4th chair, Philharmonic
- Maddie, 6th grade: Violin 2, 7th chair, Philharmonic
Congratulations to all who auditioned! It is a treat to have, once again, one third of the middle school strings students (minus the 5th graders, who are not eligible) play in All-Region Orchestra. Please come and support them at the All-Region Concert which will take place on Saturday, November 21 at 4:00 p.m. at the Eanes Performing Arts Center on the Westlake High School campus.
