NaNoWriMo

By Mercy, 8th Grade student
Once again this November, all of the middle schoolers will be working on NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. They're challenged to write a whole novel in just thirty days. Every girl sets a word count goal, and they are all hoping to reach that goal by the end of November. The goals range from 10,000 to 60,000 words, and everyone has been tracking their word count every day.
Middle school English classes are dedicated to NaNoWriMo this month, and hopefully every girl is working on it at home, too. Most are typing out their novels, but a few are writing it out by hand. Much to the delight of the 8th graders, some girls are bringing in their laptops from home (on a few conditions) so that there will be enough school computers to go around.
NaNoWriMo seems to be a widely enjoyed activity. Hopefully everyone's hands won't be too tired from writing once this month is over. We're looking forward to seeing the best for every girl's novel, and maybe some of them will even want to revise them in December!
