Boggy Creek Farm
By Dayln, Elaina, Madeline, and Camryn, 5th Grade students

During the 5th and 6th grade trip to Boggy Creek Farm we learned a lot about compost and other natural plant helpers. We also learned about how to grow plants properly and how to make sure that they are protected from pests. The woman who gave the tour showed us how to take the temperature of the compost. She also explained to us how to make sure that the compost is the right temperature. She told us about different plants and how to take care of them. Also what their growing seasons are. Right now they have strawberries under tarps, preparing to be picked by customers in the spring. The farmer's market was open while we were visiting the farm and organic vegetables, ground meat, and goat milk ice cream were available.
