Passing Notes: Women in Comedy raises over $50,000 for GSA

What a spectacular evening! The third annual Passing Notes event, held Friday, April 25th at the UT Alumni Center, exceeded expectations by netting more than $50,000. Over 50 of you raised your bid numbers to bring in $29,000 for the school’s technology, math, and science needs, and the rest of the money raised through the live and silent auctions will be put toward the GSA Annual Fund.

From the Texas Lonestar Rollergirls to Vera Carp to the thunder and lightning outside, not a moment went by without something memorable happening. Gala Co-Chairs Cindy Bogard, Robin Holt, and Jennifer Hotz did a tremendous job organizing every aspect of the event, which has evolved through years from its beginnings at Spazio by Lytle Pressley, as the brainchild of Sarah McGiffert and Cathleen Sutherland.

A very sincere thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated auction items, brought friends, and spent money! We truly appreciate your commitment to GSA.

Development Director Jenny Smrekar is looking for a new crew of dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers to help organize next year’s event.
