You could hear the cheering from auditorium shores. No, it wasn’t UT football fans, it was the crowd at the second annual GSA talent show! Thursday, March 20, girls of all ages gathered together to put on a show of a lifetime. The 6th and 7th grade made the whole show happen with their hard work, determination, and help from Ms. Ramberg, Mr. Bonneau, Ms. Read, and Ms. Sylvia. A show can’t be a show without the audience, and that was definitely covered. In short, it was a huge hit! The talent show was held at The Dougherty Arts Center and not only was there entertainment, there was food!
Behind the scenes, the sound and lighting was done by 6th grader Tillie and 7th grader Ana, and for their first time operating those huge, complicated light and sound boards, they did pretty well. The performances lasted from 6:00 to 8:00. Despite some minor delays, the transitions went quickly and smoothly and the show was a real success. Afterwards, many students said that it looked like so much fun they would definitely perform next year, so you can bet we’ll have some new faces on the stage in 2009.
If you were there, you saw first hand how much talent there is in our school and we can all be proud of those who performed.
