Art Beat
By Nancy Hoover
It was a veritable tour de force of tie-dye as our GSA middle school students and 5th grader, Shelby, sold our wares down to the bare table at the Dell Children’s Hospital Miracle Market on Dec.6th! Star saleswomen included 8th graders Meggie, Lily, Keira , Mason, Delaney and Jenny; 7th graders Ana , Gabi , Maeve and Sam; and 6th graders Rowan, Alex, Izzy, Haydyn , Stevie and Lauren. Gorgeous velvet and silk scarves as well as bandanas, aprons, tote bags and socks, flew off the table to be gift wrapped and delivered into the hands of our impressed and satisfied customers!
Many thanks to Jacquela Leon, 1st grader Jadin’s Mom, for her donation of beautiful gift bags, tissue and ribbon to complete the GSA “total package!” Thanks also to all the parents who came out to support the event.
We sold 130 pieces of hand-dyed work for over $2300 and reached out significantly to the Children’s Hospital community.
Well done ladies — and Happy Holidays!!!
