NaNoWriMo WrapUp
By Rowan and Tillie, Middle School students
This November, the whole Middle School participated in National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. Starting on the 1st and ending on the 30th, we wrote like crazy. For thirty days we bashed it out until we felt like we couldn’t write another word. And then we wrote some more.
At the beginning, we set a word goal, and over these thirty days, we tried to reach it (special recognition to Tillie, who wrote an awesome 80,352 words. I know, we gasped too.)Why do this? You may well ask. Why pour your heart and soul into 50 pieces of paper or a single word document? Because we felt like it! Here are some things people had to say about NaNoWriMo:
“I thought it really gave me a chance to express my ideas as a writer”
“I think that to be able to say that you wrote a novel in a month is a really great accomplishment.”
“It is the awesomest thing EVER!”
Well folks, that about sums it up! Congratulations to the Middle School NaNoWriMo winners!
