Water Stop @ Austin Marathon
By Ana, Middle School student
The million-dollar question—what is happening on Sunday, February 18?
Fun is happening! Ms. Ramberg is organizing a water table for the runners of the Austin Marathon, at
Brentwood Park, 6710 Arroyo Seco, in North Central Austin.
We'll be volunteering with the Wellesley Club of Austin Wellesley College women who are famous for cheering at Mile 13 of the Boston Marathon. This year they want to create a scream-tunnel with GSA! And remember, it's all about the cheering! I'm warning you, it's gonna be fun—all you have to do is contact Ms. Ramberg and sign up! There are two time slots—one at 7:00-11:00 a.m., the other at 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Also, some info tidbits—we will be cheering at Mile No. 19 of the marathon. We will hand cups of water (the elixir of life) and Gatorade to tired runners. There will be a "captain" at each booth to tell you what to do and answer any questions you may have.
Who knows—maybe you'll be in the marathon next time!
