Message From the Board

Please welcome Sugandha Jain to the Girls’ School of Austin Board of Trustees. Sugandha comes to us with years of experience as an educator and as a writer about parenting and child development. You may have seen her articles in Parent: Wise Austin magazine with titles such as Growing Up Gifted: Identifying, Educating and Advocating for Gifted & Talented Kids and Poised or Poisoned? Teen Girls in Transition. She has taught at the NYOS (Not Your Ordinary School) and the Harmony Science Academy charter schools in Austin. Sugandha earned her Masters in Human Development and Family Relations from the University of Bombay, India, and her Masters in Psychological Sciences (Developmental Psychology) from the University of Texas at Dallas.

In other Board news, we were very pleased to accept the offer from Sarah McGiffert to extend her membership with the Board through this academic year. Her 3-year stay was scheduled to end at our February meeting but that has now changed to May. Sarah has been a dedicated, thoughtful and caring contributor to our school and we are delighted to benefit from her service on the Board for a little while longer.
