Art Beat
If it’s Spring, it’s time for self-portraits! Please make plans for our incredible self-portrait show on April 14th, 3-6 p.m., at Jerry's Artarama. They will have a pizza party for the girls and many surprises for all who attend! There will also be a middle school competition with prizes judged by area artists and gallery owners. This event has become a GSA tradition and is not to be missed!
The self-portraits (acrylic on canvas) are in full bloom and are the most impressive works the girls have done this year! Many thanks to all the parents who made sure their child had a good photograph to draw from—it made a difference.
Please enjoy our wonderful interpretations of Frida Kahlo, now hanging in the courtyard gallery. Frida inspired many dramatic and thoughtful paintings.
We will begin our tie-dying project soon. Each girl can bring in her own cotton (100%) t-shirt or article of clothing, or order a velvet or silk scarf or tie from the school—there will be more information on this in an email!
My Ultimate Summer Art Camp (2 different sessions, the last two weeks
in June) is a great way to inspire and challenge your daughter's creativity.
Information and registration forms are available in the office and space is
limited.
Many thanks,
