Annual Fund Leaps Forward!
The (first annual) Annual Fund Party last week at Scholtz Garten was a smashing success! After socializing and a delicious barbeque dinner, bidding got underway with the announcement of a $25,000 matching gift. An anonymous donor pledged one dollar for every three dollars raised by the GSA community, topping out at a maximum gift of $25,000. After that, the cash started rolling in...we had generous pledges from parents, grandparents, GSA friends, board members and teachers. Many thanks to all of you who participated in the pledge drive to jump start a successful annual fund campaign.
At press time, we counted $56,000 pledged at party, an additional $26,000 that was pledged before the event, topped off with the matching gift of $25,000 for a total of $107,000! We exceeded the original goal of $100,000 and are now working on 100% participation. GSA will be publishing a list of donor names and their giving levels at the end of the annual fund drive, so if anyone would like to remain anonymous and has not already told us that, please let Sylvia in the office know by the end of October.
The Girls School of Austin is looking for 100% participation from parents, teachers and board members to raise $100,000 by early February 2008! Pledge cards are available in the GSA office and all contributions are valued. Your daughter will thank you!
Message From the Board
I am writing this just after our Annual Fund Kickoff party at Scholz Garten. What a great party and what a wonderful demonstration of this special community that is ours. Teachers, parents, the board and of course the girls coming together to have fun, roll up their sleeves and take on a common goal. I am still not sure of the final amount raised but it looks as if we just blew past our goal for the event. A successful Annual Fund drive this year with full participation from GSA families will keep us on track to achieve our vision for The Girls’ School’s continuing growth and development. Thank you to all who have given so much for our school.
