Robotics Team

The Middle School robotics team — Run-It Silver — is making fantastic progress as they hurl toward the nailbiting tournament to be held in Round Rock on December 9. They have finished making all of the obstacles that their robot must overcome. The robot itself is being designed and built while the programming of its brain continues behind the scenes. The team must also present a complex research project at the tournament. The research team must select a building (any building) and evaluate its energy use. They must then propose solutions to reduce consumption and help the building move toward alternate energy sources.

The team enlisted the help of Mr. Richard Morgan, an alternate energy expert with Austin Energy, to give them ideas about how to deal with this challenging task. After listening to the many ideas Mr. Morgan offered, and doing independent research, the team is ready to go to work creating a play or video of their plan. GO SILVER!

The team is coached by Mrs. Lamare and Mr. Phil Ryals, a community volunteer from Hewlett-Packard.
