The Eighth Grade Embarks on Civil Rights Road Trip
As the culminating experience of their US History course, the eighth grade has embarked on an 8-day tour of important sites associated with the Civil Rights era of the 1960s. Led by their teacher and advisor, Lucas Schaefer, the group will tour New Orleans; Jackson, Mississippi; Montgomery, Alabama; and Memphis, Tennessee. Along the way they will visit sites important to the Civil Rights Movement and interview people who were active in the movement. You can follow them on their trip by visiting their blog.
